Talking to Liverpool’s official website, the British talent opened up about his desire to play on the field.
Although it was predicted to go through a relatively difficult 90 minutes, Liverpool ended up destroying West Ham United with a score of 5-1 in an epic battle in the Carabao Cup quarterfinals this morning.
Discussing this match, Curtis Jones, who shone with a double, shared:
“I’ve said many times that I want to score goals; I want to help the team; that’s what I have to do.”
Jones exploded.
“If you always play well, then that’s fine, but then you need to start scoring goals. That’s what I did in this match; I scored two goals. So you can see a big smile on my face.”
“I also said at the end of the match that I just want to play; it doesn’t matter if it’s the Carabao Cup, Europa League, Premier League, or FA Cup; I just want to be on the field.”
“Whenever I’m on the field, I have a smile on my face. I try to help my teammates and the team. That’s what I did.”
